The promotion of sustainability, building local economies through fair trade, and bettering our planet are the guiding principles of everything what we do. From the very items we sell, to the packaging we sell them in, to the organizations we support, these principles are the foundations of Salvi Earth.

At the heart of our business is our handwoven bags and accessories. Our bags are crafted with 100% recycled plastic. Everything from plastic water bottles to take-out containers are repurposed into a permanent home; our bags. Many of the items we sell contain over 30 single-use water bottles worth of recycled plastic, plastic that could otherwise end up in our oceans, lakes, and wetlands.

Below you'll find many of the practices we employ to improve our planet, from utilizing sustainable practices, to improving the local economies of our artisans, to promoting relationships with other organizations that better our planet and protect our environment.

Outside of crafting accessories made of 100% recycled plastic, we promote sustainable practices through carbon offsets and the utilization of either recycled or entirely recyclable packaging.

Fair and Ethical Trade

Every artisan we work with independently runs and manages their own businesses locally in El Salvador. Each accessory we order is purchased at the local trade price set up by our artisans. This helps ensure that their local businesses thrive economically and indirectly supports the community and economy they live in. We avoid agreements that structure compensation on an hourly basis, and instead focus on all-encompassing agreements that ensure all involved are compensated fairly for the time they put into creating their beautiful and unique accessories.
